Returning to Social Work?

Here at Oldham Council, we want to make it as easy as possible for you to return to your profession/role as a Social Worker.

The Frontline programme

The Frontline programme offers two years of intensive, paid training based within a small supportive team within Oldham children’s social care.

The programme includes a fully-funded MSc in Advanced Relationship-Based Social Work Practice with Children and Families, with Lancaster University, to develop the skills you’ll need for the role.

You’ll qualify as a social worker after year 1 and become an agent of change, improving social work through excellent practice, leadership and innovation.

Year 2 is your first supported year as a newly qualified social worker (ASYE). In Oldham, we have a fantastic ASYE programme of support and additional training.
